Three Cuban women's lives are turned upside down at the same time. María, a peasant woman, loses her son in unclear circumstances. Norma presents the news on TV and refuses to announce false information concerning the regime. Nieves is fired by her boss from her work at an illegal pig slaughterhouse. The fates of all three run into each other, weaving a tale as fragile as their lives amid a dying Communism.
