Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams

Older and smarter than in the first installment, Carmen and Juni Cortez will have to work at keeping their reputation as the best, given that they have new competition in the shape of sibling spy team, Gary and Gerti Giggles. In another race to save the world, the kids travel to the Island of Lost Dreams, which is populated by fantastical genetically altered creatures, brought to life by the mad scientist, Romero. However, on the mysterious island none of the kids' high-tech James Bond-inspired gadgets work, so they must rely on their own cunning.
At the age of only 23, Robert Rodriguez wrote, directed, photographed, edited and put sound to El mariachi (1993), winner of the Audience Award at Sundance, becoming the smallest-budget film to be released by a big studio and the first American movie premiered in Spanish. Following this impressive initial success, Rodriguez has continued his rising career with Roadracers (1994), Desperado (1995), From Dusk Till Dawn (1996), The Faculty (1998), Spy Kids (2001) and Once Upon a Time in Mexico (2003).
