Canary shoot scene
Friday, September 28th, 2012

Suddenly, the Canary Islands has become one of Europe’s hot spots for big shoots.

The main reason: Its singular fiscal regime, which offers a 38% tax breaks and further
fiscal deductions.

Warners’ Wrath of the Titans, co-produced by tax vehicle Furia de Titanes II, shot partially
there, accessing tax breaks.

A similar formula has used on Universal’s The Fast and the Furious 6, now lensing.

Gran Canaria, a Canary Island, is partially hosting Nostromo’s Grand Piano, with Elijah
Wood and John Cusack.

Given the build, Nostromo producer Adrián Guerra has just launched service company
Ylands, to help archiepelago shoots.

At a breakfast Friday in San Sebastian, the Gran Canaria Film Commission will unveil
more details on the advantages of shoot in southermost Spain.
