Dani López, the chef at the Kokotxa restaurant acknowledged that it was a real challenge to be taking part in the Festival in the Culinary Zinema section alongside his friend Roberto Ruiz from the Frontón Restaurant in Tolosa. They will be preparing the themed meal at the Basque Culinary Center inspired by the Korean film Final Recipe.

“It’s a really entertaining film,” López says. “It’s about a Masterchef-style cooking contest but in the background are values, the family and those flavours that remind us of certain things,” he explains, which is why they have opted for familiar local aromas. However, taking advantage of the fact that it’s a Korean film they have enclosed these flavours in an Asian aesthetic.”When people try our creations, the flavours will be very familiar to them. From the outside, however, they’ll be reminded of dishes from Asian cuisine”, he reveals.
