A mysterious metaphor
Monday, September 23rd, 2013

The metaphor of a search for a father that the main character hasn’t seen for 40 years is the focal point of the film La Dune, by the Israeli director, Yossi Aviram, which is competing in the New Directors section. In the film Hanoch , a man in his forties, decides to leave his life in Tel Aviv and fly to Paris, where for mysterious reasons he starts to secretly follow a 65-year old man. This is his first feature although he has previously worked as a director of photography and has made some shorts and several documentaries, one of which Paris Return was shown on the Arte TV channel in March 2010.

The film, for which Aviram also wrote the script, has already found distribution in Israel and France and is going to be screened at the Haifa Festival.
