Jonas Widmer, one of the best runners in Switzerland, is focussed on participating in the Olympic games. Besides sports, Jonas is also a successful cook and plans to move in with his girlfriend, Simone. But Jonas's perfect life is increasingly disturbed by memories of his late brother. He starts leading a tragic double life, robbing young women at night. Based on a true story.
Hannes Baumgartner studied cinema at the F+F School of Art and Design and at Zurich University of the Arts. He has directed the short films Mein Bester Freund (2007), The Girl with the Hotdog (2008), Toter Mann (2009) and Teneriffa (2012), winner of the Zurich Film Award and selected for film festivals including the Max Ophüls Prize en Saarbrucken and the International Film Festival Winterthur. Der Läufer (Midnight Runner) is his first feature film.
