Marianne leaves Abel for Paul, his best friend and the father of her unborn child. Eight years later, Paul dies. Abel and Marianne get back together, arousing feelings of jealousy in both Marianne's son, Joseph, and Paul's sister, Eva, who has secretly loved Abel since childhood.
Louis Garrel has developed an intense career as an actor in outstanding titles including The Dreamers (2003), by Bernardo Bertolucci, Les amants réguliers (2005), directed by his father, Philippe Garrel, La belle personne (The Beautiful Person, 2008), by Christophe Honoré, which competed in San Sebastian, or Le redoutable (Redoubtable, 2017), in which he played the part of Jean-Luc Godard. As a director he has put his name to the short films Mes copains (2008), Little Tailor (2010) and La règle de trois (2011). His first feature, Les deux amis (Two Friends, 2015), was presented at the Cannes Festival's Semaine de la Critique.
