BIOGRAPHY

One of the pioneers and leading exponents of the nouvelle vague, Jean-Luc Godard debuted with À bout de souffle (Breathless, 1959). He has made classic, political, arthouse films, others in episodes, video, television... around a hundred titles including Le mépris (Contempt, 1963), Pierrot le fou (1965), Tout va bien (1972), Je vous salue, Marie (Hail Mary, 1985), Film socialisme (Socialism, 2010)..., almost always with a rebellious, provocative and taunting style. Le livre d'image received a Special Golden Palm at the last Cannes Festival.
