Calais a few weeks before its clearing: The Jungle is a place where thousands of migrants live and wait to go to England, or just for somebody to take care of them. They wander in this abandoned place, hoping to survive our indifference.
The works of Jean-Gabriel Périot move between the documentary, animated and experimental modes. They include the short films Dies Orae, Eût-elle été criminelle... (included in the ".doc-New paths of non-fiction" retrospective at San Sebastian in 2010) and The Devil. His first feature-length documentary, Une jeunesse allemande (A German Youth), opened the Panorama section at the Berlinale 2015 and screened in Zabaltegi. Lumières d'été - Natsu no hikari (Summer Lights), his first feature, premiered in the New Directors section of the San Sebastian Festival in 2016.
