The Festival will combine onsite and online formats in its industry activities
The new WIP Latam and WIP Europa sections will be held with a mixed formula and the other activities will be exclusively online
Friday, July 24th, 2020

The San Sebastian Festival will be combining onsite and online formats to organise the Industry activities at its 68tth edition, which will take place from the 18th to the 26th of September. Due to the situation caused by Covid-19, the new WIP Latam and WIP Europa sections will be held with a mixed formula combining onsite and online formats, while the rest of the programmes will take place exclusively online.

With the aim of putting together a Festival that is both recognisable and secure, this year there will be two passes for the professionals who work in the film industry: an online one (50 euros), which will allow virtual access to the programmed digital contents, and another onsite pass (90 euros) which will also provide access to the WIP Europa and WIP Latam screenings, and to the entire Festival programme.

The new works in progress sections at the Festival, WIP Latam and WIP Europa, will be held from the 22nd to the 24th of September. Those professionals who are able to come in person to San Sebastian will attend the screenings in cinemas as usual, while holders of online passes will be able to enjoy these services virtually.

As is usually the case, industry pass holders will have the possibility of streaming films from the Festival Film library, run by CinandoVL, the platform for film-industry professionals created by the Marché du Film Festival de Cannes.

The Industry Club space, a meeting point and work centre for accredited professionals, will once again be located in the Kursaal centre, the Festival hub.

EXCLUSIVELY ONLINE

The IX Europe-Latin America Co-production Forum will be held from the 19th to the 21st of September and will be exclusively online, as will the Lau Haizetara Documentary Co-production Forum organised by IBAIA in collaboration with the San Sebastián Festival.

Events like Ikusmira Berriak or Zinemaldia & Technology, which includes the Zinemaldia Startup Challenge competition, will also be held online, as will some round tables and master classes.
