John Petersen lives with his partner, Eric, and their adopted daughter, Monica, in California. John’s father, Willis, a traditional and conservative man, decides to travel to Los Angeles and stay with John while looking for the ideal place to retire. During his stay at the house, the worlds of father and son clash strongly, reopening old wounds and creating new ones on the mutual journey to acceptance and forgiveness.
Since his brief appearance in Witness (Peter Weir, 1985), Viggo Mortensen (Watertown, New York. USA. 1958) has composed a filmography of some sixty films, including titles such as Carlito's Way (Brian de Palma, 1993), the trilogy The Lord of the Rings (Peter Jackson), A History of Violence (David Cronenberg, 2005), Eastern Promises (David Cronenberg, 2007), which opened San Sebastian Festival, Captain Fantastic (Matt Ross, 2016) and Green Book (Peter Farrelly, 2018). These last three performances earned him Best Actor Academy Award nominations. Falling, his directorial debut, premiered at Sundance and is included in the Cannes 2020 official selection.
