The project ‘Spanish Screenings XXL. An international market for Spanish audiovisual production’ is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (RTRP) to boost Spain’s role as a European audiovisual hub and is promoted by the Ministry of Culture and Sport through the ICAA and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation through ICEX.

The Festival will organize ‘Spanish Screenings: Financing & Tech’, and will host two events:

• A meeting between international investors and Spanish producers (Financing).
• Zinemaldia Startup Challenge (Tech).

‘Spanish Screenings XXL. An international market for Spanish audiovisual production’ has four pillars:

• ‘Spanish Screenings’ Content: A market run at Malaga Festival, which increases its scope to encompass sub-sections and innovative audiovisual content.
• ‘Spanish Screenings’ Financing & Tech: The San Sebastian Film Festival will host a meeting between international investors and talent representatives and Spanish producers. In addition, this year's Zinemaldia Startup Challenge includes a specific competition for Spanish entrepreneurs and startups.
• ‘Spanish Screenings’ on Tour: Travelling actions will focus on the sale and promotion of Spanish audiovisual production in strategic territories, such as Eastern Europe and Asia.
• Spanish Screenings 360: Further promotion will also go to the establishment of an active market running throughout the year in the shape of a virtual platform for promotion and business.
